Barack Obama’s New Book
OK…so I have been fascinated with Barack ever since he gave his keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention. He seems like the real deal and actually seems to do what he thinks is right rather than try to figure out what the polls think he should do. Of course I tend to agree with what he thinks is right, so that helps.
He is coming out with a new book this October called The Audacity of Hope:
"Too often our political discussions focus on the things that divide us, but there are a lot of things we all have in common as Americans. On issues of faith, race, foreign policy or the economy, if we start with recognizing what we have in common, we can arrive at a politics that isn't as partisan and a little more productive."
I read the excerpt and I really think I need to pick this one up in October. Call me an idealist, but this is what I am looking for in a politician. I am a little disillusioned with the democrats right now…they are way better then the republicans, but I am really turned off with the whole partisan politics thing. I need to know that there are still politicians who "get it".
